Alma Henry began her career in the Hutchinson Public School District as a seventh grade English Language Arts teacher at Hutchinson Middle School-7. Mrs. Henry spent six years teaching before becoming an instructional coach. After two years, she accepted her first principal position at Hutchinson STEM Magnet School at Allen. As a building leader, Mrs. Henry feels systems work best when teams come together to build culture. She believes leadership is shared; it’s about bringing the greatness out in others.
Her educational experiences have given her the opportunity to collaborate with a group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Mrs. Henry’s educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn– given an adult champion who is relentless about the success of that child.
