In Podcast Episode 53 of the Time for Teachership Podcast, I am talking with Dr. Stephanie Ryan. She has a Ph.D. in Learning Sciences, M.S. and B.S. in Chemistry, Owner of Ryan Education Consulting LLC, Instagrammer, and mom to 3.5 year old Charlie.
We talk about the important role that science plays in our daily lives as well as some ways teachers can help students connect with the natural world around them.
She shares a heartwarming story about a science experiment with her son. To allow him to take brave actions himself, she let him lean into being uncomfortable and to learn from his mistakes. Letting kids make mistakes makes the learning more meaningful.
Give a listen, I hope you enjoy this discussion as much as I did and don’t forget to check out the blog post!
