The Power of Support
I started my fourth school at my school this year, and looking back, one thing that made a difference is the power of an administrator who was right there alongside the teacher supporting them. I was thankful to meet an amazing admin who would later unknowingly become one of my mentors. My admin cares about me, supports me, and is one I admire due to her being honest and reflective. She sends me resources and is always there when I need her. That, to me, is huge, and I feel thankful because I know the importance of having someone by your side. I am not perfect by any means, but with her guiding me, I feel more confident because I know that I have someone I can talk to who gets it.I do know that every single administrator deserves a huge thank you because they truly are the foundation. I realized throughout my career so far, in a time when teachers are leaving the profession, having a supportive admin truly makes a teacher want to stay. I cannot imagine being an administrator right now with all the hoops and hurdles, but I do know that every single administrator deserves a huge thank you because they truly are the foundation. She makes me feel seen in a school that has a lot of staff, and I will forever be grateful for the impact that she has made in my life and in the lives of others.
