- This year, what if we look back at the previous year and use our experiences to reshape and refocus our intentions?
- This year, we should refocus our approach by striving to keep a healthy model in front of us.
- We should reimagine our benchmark for success and restore our joy for living.
There is something that is quite exhilarating about a new year. It could just be the mentality and mindset of having a fresh start. Maybe it is a simple fact that there are new opportunities waiting to be explored.
Whatever the possible explanations could be, we have the ability to reimagine our blueprint for this year.
Leadership expert John C. Maxwell states, “When you accomplish something that you once believed was impossible, it makes you a new person. It changes the way you see yourself and the world.”
What if we look back at the previous year we just came through and use our experiences to reshape and refocus our intentions?
Take a moment to reflect on what was brought to fruition.
There’s no denying that we are not the same person we were several months ago. There HAS been a change. And there HAS been an evolution in our purpose. Whether it was through an accomplishment or a transformation, we can choose to see things in a new light.
There are a few guarantees that will be inevitable.
This year will not LOOK the same.
This year will not FEEL the same.
Perhaps we have innovation and inspiration waiting to be released.
What we do have is the CHOICE.
Our CHOICE is to allow the discomfort of a challenging year and channel it into a brilliantly created possibility for growth. We can take advantage of the unique circumstances that have led us to begin to recreate our mission and vision as leaders. What if we venture out to REFOCUS, REIMAGINE, and RESTORE our processes this year? How can we do this in order to authentically lead and guide ourselves and others?
What if we can REFOCUS our approach by striving to keep a healthy model in front of us?
We gravitate towards those who have the same belief system and convictions. We can shift to focus on these positive examples. Lean into those who share similar perspectives. Not in a narrow-minded, closed mindset attitude, but as a supportive paradigm.
What if we can REIMAGINE our benchmark for success?
Initiate and design the template by which satisfaction and peaceful contentment will come. Set aside the things that cause a roadblock. Imagine what resolutions or goals will propel us forward with JOY. Be careful not to set restrictive or unattainable expectations that would be a cause for disappointment. Realistically understand this is not a drive for perfection, but for growth, even by a small measure.[scroll down to keep reading]
What if we can RESTORE our joy for living?
See new ways to give revitalization to our souls. What is it that brings exhilaration and exuberance to life? LIVE it. PRACTICE it daily. SHARE it compassionately and generously. We are made to live in a grateful community with others. Gratitude is stewardship and will promote contentment if we allow this restoration to occur. Breathe in grace, exhale JOY.
What if we venture out to REFOCUS, REIMAGINE, and RESTORE our processes this year?
We CAN step forward and choose our paths wisely with determination and the strength that is already there.
