Hey! It’s the first day of our 7 Days to A Better Break! Today, we’re giving you 1 Motivational Blog Post!

Here we go!

As you joyfully walk out of your classroom the last day before an extended break with visions of lounging in sweatpants and binge watching your favorite series on Netflix go through your head…STOP.

I know you need to reset, recharge, and gain a little bit of your sanity back, but I want you to consider the opportunity you have in front of you. Whether your break is 3 days, 5 days, or 2 weeks, that is valuable time you can utilize to get ahead and save yourself a lot of frustration for the rest of the year.

Things you can do with your time:

Now…I’m not saying you shouldn’t relax. You absolutely should, BUT…what I don’t want you to do is get back into your classroom and feel like you’re even further behind than before break! This will not only stress you out, but it will frustrate you and chances are, it won’t be too good for your students either.

There IS something you can do to avoid this: Take advantage of your time out of the classroom during a break.

Here are 5 ways to make your break work for you!

  1. set aside specific times to work.
  2. create a specific to-do list
  3. hold yourself accountable
  4. focus on tasks and work that will save you time later on
  5. remember to relax and recharge (all work and no play makes you…a grumpier teacher probably).

So here we are…you have a choice to make. You can simply let your break come and go and return to your classroom with more to do than ever, OR you can make a decision right now and make the most of it!

I hope you are ready to make the commitment and put in some time and work so that the rest of your year is that much easier.

Enjoy your break…(but don’t waste it!).
