The Grid Method – Part 1: Introduction / Learning To Walk

Learning To Walk…

When children learn how to walk, it is universally understood that they will do so at their own pace and when they are ready. I’ve never heard of a child failing their walking test, doomed to crawl forever as they were moved onto potty training, and for good reason. This would not only be ridiculous, but it would most likely be seen as some form of abuse or mis-treatment.

An essential question I would like to pose under this premise is: Why do we do this very thing to students as the enter the educational system?

The current state of education is not a secret and more students are falling behind than ever before. I was not immune to this in my own classroom either. That’s why I created a solution we now call The Grid Method – Mastery Learning System. This self-paced, mastery learning framework has changed the way I reach students and increased the achievement of thousands of learners.

This course has been designed and created to share with you, some of the foundational shifts that not only saved my teaching career, but have provided me a platform and system that I can share with teachers, schools, and districts everywhere. This system can help you break the traditional bell curve of student achievement and reach more students than ever!

Through this course we will:

  • Define and explain The Grid Method – Mastery Learning System and its components
