We often hear about how powerful reflection can be. We embed it into our classrooms, we utilize it during our days, but still a question I am often asked is, “how can I make reflection work for me?” When I ask more about it, educators often say things like, “I reflect, but don’t often find it helpful” or “I’m not sure how I’m supposed to reflect”. And my response is often the same, which is something like, “it’s time to find a reflection process that works for you!”

Reflecting is a powerful tool, and it’s also a tool that really needs to be personalized for you. Instead of focusing on the how, I also recommend starting with the why. Why are you reflecting? What’s the purpose? Then target the how and the what. And then, go deeper! Yes! In this episode I share specifically why I think baseline reflecting is good, but what going deeper into reflecting does for you to build your momentum forward.
